April Comes….

April 7th, 2011 at 8:50

Hello all. I hope you are well. I am doing very well. I am cycling in a big way now, of course. The training is going great, especially when I’m not being a crash test dummy (my new initials CTD). LOL

We finished our Wood Badge course as camp last weekend. It was an excellent course, made even better by all of my friends, both as students and instructors. It took a year to set the course up, and we spent twice as much time preparing as we usually do, and it showed.

It is a bittersweet time for me. My third year without Bobbi begins…… Things are settling down. I’m settling down, and life goes on, doesn’t it? The “grands” are excellent. I love them so much, and Kimmie too. I miss Bobbi so much. Casey and I went on a 20 mile ride yesterday. I spent half of the time talking to Bobbi (again, sadly one-sided). It made me wonder- is my problem a problem of perception? Was I riding tandem and I did not even know it? I’d like to hope so. Well, I have a lot of distractions, but I still find time to think.

June 4th was start our 1,000 mile ride! What a thing to do! I want to go NOW!!!!! I’m ready! I feel like the longer we wait the more chance something could happen (like last weeks crash). I don’t usually get “nerves”…. Ah well, I guess I have 2 more months to train. Three weeks on a bike…. I’m going to need heap big calluses!

Anyway, I just wanted to talk about Bobbi for a while, not myself. I know we all miss her terribly. I got to spend Tuesday evening with Kim and family after bringing Ethan home from Cub Scouts. It was just wonderful. Kira was feeling healthy = not grumpy and she condescended to give me some much appreciated affection. Yeah- I said condescended. She is the princess of the planet after all! LOL I want to take the family bike riding one weekend soon on the Virginia Creeper trail. It’s a fun and easy bike ride through the western Virginia mountains on an abandoned railroad bed. I’ll post photos if we go.

Thanks for checking in. Keep in touch. I’ll keep you posted.
