Housekeeping…..
Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010Here’s a quick update on Bobbi’s little doggie- Rikki is home!
Alayne emailed me and said she is home from the UW vet hospital and doing much better. I’m looking for volunteers to fly to Seattle and pelt her with horse apples until she no longer considers them a snack food. I think it’s time for so “tough love”!!! Of course, she’s crazy, so it will take a LOT of horse apples. Good thing they have six horses! Any volunteers?
How in the world did that woman ever put up with me??? Sheesh, what a mess! Ah well, it’s a “snow day”, so I’m home trying to clean this place up. Anybody want some square red TARGET stoneware salad plates? I’m trying to simplify my life. I’ve gotten all the extraneous dishes and glassware packed up to give to a family who lost everything in a fire. I’m also giving Kimmie the bamboo pattern silverware from the Seabrooke house I can’t find replacements for. Yeah, I’m housekeeping, but I suck at it. Bobbi really was an angel! I’ve been saying she raised a daughter AND a husband. Did you wonder how I kept a straight face when I said it?
I had some nice comments from people who listened to the local public radio station Sunday. I meant to tell you all to listen ;-) Anyway, Bobbi and I were always donors, but when her dad died we started becoming “Day Sponsors”. I’ve continued that tradition. Anyway, for a donation of a certain size you get a message announced several times a day. Here’s what ours said- “Today’s Day Spnosor is Hugh Lambert in memory of his wife Bobbi Livengood Lambert, and in honor of all the friends, family and medical professionals who fought so hard to save her.” That’s about all I could fit in the thirty word limit. Not bad, eh?
Sseo, I’d better get back to cleaning. As slow as I am, it’s going to take years! Maybe not (I hope not). The grand kids are sick, so I’m home for the night. I’ve also restarted the remodelling inside the house. I’m taking apart the crappy shelving in the master bedroom walk-in closet, and I’m going to put up beautiful textured wallpaper. Bobbi would approve. Then I’ll assemble a closet organizer I bought. Wish me luck!
It’s the season of the Baha’i fast, but the suns gone down so I can eat that chicken Fricassee I’ve been making. Yum! Come on over, I have plenty. Oh, how do you ike the new “theme” of the blog? Thanks for checking in. I’ll keep you posted.
